When comparing wedding venues around Loughborough, check the ceremony and dinner capacities before deciding on the photographs. Several venues are in nearby villages, which affects guest travel and accommodation. I would also ask about catering and indoor portrait space while you are viewing, so the room booking and photography plan work together.
Prestwold Hall near Hoton, Beaumanor Hall in Woodhouse, The Manor House at Quorn and Quorn Grange Hotel offer different settings for weddings of roughly 60 to 180 guests. That range includes different ceremony, seated-meal and evening capacities. Confirm the figures for your particular rooms before booking photography or film.
Prestwold Hall: a country house with indoor portrait options
Prestwold Hall is an exclusive-use Grade I listed country house at Prestwold Lane, Loughborough LE12 5SQ. Its website describes a 2,500-acre estate with indoor, outdoor and church ceremony options. The house, gardens and front entrance give us different photographic settings close together after the vows.
Prestwold's September 2026 wedding FAQ describes celebrations of up to 150 guests. A venue-verified directory lists 140 for ceremonies and seated meals; some directories quote 200 for an evening reception. Ask the events team for the daytime and evening layouts for your date, particularly if you want 150 people seated for dinner.
I would start portraits at the classical exterior, follow a short garden route if the weather allows, then use the interiors for more editorial photographs. The indoor rooms are useful on grey autumn afternoons as daylight fades. We could leave parents and grandparents indoors while taking the couple outside for ten minutes.
Prestwold advertises its own chefs, tailored menus and ten guest suites. If you need an outside Nigerian, Ghanaian or other cultural caterer, ask whether that supplier can use the kitchen. A bespoke menu does not establish permission for external catering. Get the agreed arrangement in writing before paying a deposit.
The private historic estate may suit a formal wedding with dinner numbers within the confirmed seated limit. Check which rooms and gardens your exclusive-use booking includes. I would reserve portrait time before the meal so the couple can be present during service.
Check the Prestwold Hall weddings page and venue-verified capacity profile when asking about the layout.

Beaumanor Hall: Victorian interiors and 34 acres of grounds
Beaumanor Hall is in Woodhouse, near Loughborough, LE12 8TX. Leicestershire County Council has run it since the 1970s, and it has 34 acres of grounds. The venue advertises weddings with a 2026-2029 brochure covering its packages.
Published profiles list about 120 seated wedding-breakfast guests and up to 180 for a buffet-style celebration. The indoor ceremony room is commonly listed at around 73, with different limits outdoors. Check both parts of the booking: a dinner space for 120 does not give that number of guests access to the smaller ceremony room.
I would plan portraits around the Victorian exterior and garden paths, with an indoor spot agreed for rain. The architecture gives us a background if group photographs need to move inside. Window portraits can also be included in the plan.
The Hall offers full-day, ceremony-only and twilight weddings, and its team coordinates food. Ask what can be prepared in-house and whether a specialist caterer is permitted. For a Yoruba traditional engagement alongside a civil ceremony, I would also check room-reset time and the position of each family's seating.
Beaumanor may suit an intimate civil ceremony followed by a seated celebration of 100 to 120, or a larger buffet within an approved room plan. Decide which ceremony space you want, check its capacity and identify a covered location for family photographs.
Read the Beaumanor Hall weddings page and 2026-2029 wedding brochure for its packages.

The Manor House at Quorn: the Glade House and Pavilion
The Manor House at Quorn is on Woodhouse Road, Quorn, LE12 8AL. Its wedding page describes exclusive use of The Pavilion for the wedding day. The green oak-framed Glade House seats up to 60 for a ceremony; The Pavilion seats 100 for the wedding breakfast, with another 50 joining in the evening.
I would plan around the Glade House, Pavilion interior and garden edges, with courtyard confetti if authorised. The historic Great Central Railway runs beside the grounds, so a passing train may appear in the photographs. I would leave that photograph optional in the plan.
The venue has twelve bedrooms and describes three stages of pricing: venue hire, food and drink, then accommodation. Guests travelling from Leicester, Derby or Nottingham can ask about staying after the evening party.
Minimum numbers are 60 daytime guests on Fridays and Saturdays, and 50 on other days. A 35-person midweek wedding would need a separately agreed arrangement. Food comes from the venue's kitchen, so confirm permission for any external cultural caterer before committing to that supplier.
This may suit a country wedding with 60 to 100 daytime guests and accommodation nearby. Check the ceremony arrangement as well as the meal: the Glade House's 60 seats will not accommodate a 100-person ceremony. Agree where everyone will sit before planning camera positions.
Check The Manor House at Quorn weddings page and its access and contact information.

Quorn Grange Hotel: gardens and guest accommodation
Quorn Grange Hotel is at 88 Wood Lane, Quorn, LE12 8DB. It has gardens and bedrooms on site. Specialist wedding listings describe licensed ceremonies and receptions in spaces including the Oak Panel Room, Goodacre Suite and garden gazebo.
The listings give different capacities. One describes up to 40 in the Oak Panel Room, 40 to 100 in the Goodacre Suite and up to 100 at the gazebo. Another lists 150 dining guests and 250 for the evening; a regional guide describes expanded layouts reaching 180. Ask the hotel for a dated plan showing your exact room, table arrangement and ceremony format.
A smaller legal ceremony can be followed by a larger evening reception, with overnight rooms for guests. The gardens and mature trees give a leafy alternative to Prestwold's larger architectural setting, including space to consider for multi-generational family portraits.
Confirm an indoor family-photo location in case of rain. A hotel lounge or staircase may be shared with another function, so agree access for the time you need. Ask when the gardens are available and whether the gazebo can be used in your chosen season.
Quorn Grange may suit couples who want overnight rooms and garden portraits at the same venue. Confirm capacity directly with the hotel, since the published listings use different room layouts and counts.
Compare the Guides for Brides venue profile and Bridebook venue profile, then ask the hotel which figures apply to your booking.
Guest numbers, weather and the wedding programme
Count dinner seats separately from evening invitations. A wedding with 90 daytime guests and 40 joining later needs a different layout from 130 people eating at 3pm. Ask for a floor plan showing the dance floor, cake, DJ, stage and supplier access. That drawing helps us judge where photographs can take place.
Check the weather alternative during your viewing. Late-October daylight is already limited, and in December it may fade during the afternoon reception. Prestwold and Beaumanor have historic interiors; The Manor House has the Pavilion and Glade House; Quorn Grange has hotel spaces and grounds. Agree exactly where portraits can move if it rains.
Discuss catering alongside the programme. A British-Nigerian wedding may include a church service, civil ceremony, Yoruba traditions, an Aso-Ebi family entrance or outfit changes. I would ask which events you are planning and how the rooms will accommodate them. Obtain written approval for any specialist caterer before contracting the supplier.
Send guests clear directions to village venues, including parking, accommodation and a pick-up point. Give older relatives a route they can comfortably manage and agree an accessible family-photo location. A postcode alone leaves too much to work out on arrival.
