View a Liverpool reception venue with the full layout in mind. A room for 250 guests also needs space for a stage, DJ or band and dance floor. Add decor, a cake and a photography-and-film team, and the empty-room capacity may no longer describe the reception you are planning. Allow for family entrances and outfit changes too.
For Nigerian, African and multicultural couples, I check dining capacity after production is added and establish the catering rules early. Changing space, guest arrival and parking also need attention, along with clear camera views across the room. This 2026 guide compares Titanic Hotel’s Rum Warehouse, Anfield Stadium, Sefton Park Palm House and Opulent @ 35.
1. Titanic Hotel Rum Warehouse: up to 500 seated
Titanic Hotel Liverpool is at Stanley Dock, Regent Road, Liverpool L3 0AN. Its Rum Warehouse wedding page lists up to 500 guests for a seated wedding breakfast, with minimums of 100 daytime and 180 evening guests. Liverpool City Council lists the hotel as an approved wedding venue. Check the room and registrar availability if you want the legal ceremony and reception on site; the registrar is a separate booking.
The Rum Warehouse is a restored 1950s warehouse with around 789 square metres of flexible event space. Floor-to-ceiling glazing overlooks Stanley Dock. The room’s height and scale give a large Nigerian reception an industrial setting with space to plan production.
Titanic’s dedicated multicultural-weddings page promotes the Rum Warehouse for Asian, Jewish and Greek weddings and lists celebrations up to 500 people. It does not name Nigerian weddings specifically. Discuss your family’s programme with the team and ask how the package would accommodate it.
Brick, dockside windows and ceiling height remain visible behind a large stage, giving photographs a sense of the building. Check where the stage would sit, the width of the entrance route and whether a second camera can move between rear tables and the dance floor without crossing the couple’s path.
West Bay is Titanic’s smaller option. Its page lists up to 180 seated for a ceremony and wedding breakfast, with minimums of 80 day and 120 evening guests. Compare it with the 500-person Rum Warehouse if your celebration is closer to 150 people.
Consider it for 180 to 500 guests if you want a dockside setting, room for substantial production, hotel accommodation and the ceremony and reception on one property.

2. Anfield Stadium: 150 to 370 seated in these rooms
Liverpool Football Club’s Anfield Stadium is on Liverpool City Council’s approved-venue list. The club markets weddings and civil partnerships, including Asian weddings. Ask how its event rooms and packages would fit your cultural programme.
Anfield has several rooms to compare. The Beautiful Game in the Main Stand seats up to 370 for dinner or 469 for a drinks reception. The European Lounge seats up to 150 for lunch or dinner. Larger event spaces include the Carlsberg Dugout and Sevens and Eights Lounge; ask which layout is available for a wedding.
For 250 to 350 seated guests, I would start by looking at the Beautiful Game. Check whether guests at the back can see the stage and whether the video team has clear views of parent and couple entrances, speeches and the cake. A wide room helps only if the final layout preserves those sightlines.
Event listings for some Anfield rooms include halal and kosher catering. The club’s wedding packages centre on a wedding breakfast and buffet. If you want a particular external Nigerian caterer, ask directly whether that is allowed.
For a couple who love Liverpool FC, the stadium can give portraits a personal setting. If football is less important to you, we can use the architecture, concourses and event rooms as a modern reception background.
Consider these rooms for 150 to 370 seated guests, particularly LFC families or couples happy with in-house catering. They may also suit a civil ceremony and reception in one venue, with guests travelling from across Merseyside.

3. Sefton Park Palm House: up to 220 guests
Liverpool City Council lists Sefton Park Palm House as an approved wedding venue. The venue says it hosts around 65 weddings a year. Its official brochure gives a minimum of 80 and maximum of 220 guests for exclusive use of the Palm House and grounds. Confirm the seated layout for your plans.
The Victorian glasshouse and tropical plants provide a botanical setting with natural light from several directions. Different layouts and evening lighting can change the photographs between the ceremony, meal and reception without moving to another building.
In 2026, the Palm House held its first Multicultural Wedding Open Evening with Zinc Occasions, presenting cultural celebrations and halal catering. Ask the team how those catering and planning arrangements would apply to your wedding.
Palm House material describes approved catering partners. If you want a particular Nigerian caterer, check whether they can work within that framework before booking.
Sefton Park gives you outdoor portrait options, while the glasshouse, plants and evening lighting provide indoor backgrounds if the lawns are wet. Discuss both when planning an autumn or winter wedding.
Consider the Palm House for 80 to 220 guests if you want botanical surroundings and natural light, with indoor photographs available in poor weather.

4. Opulent @ 35: 50 to 250 guests and in-house halal catering
Opulent @ 35 is at 35 Renshaw Street in Liverpool city centre, inside the Grade II listed Grand Central building. It markets Asian and civil weddings, milestone events and all-inclusive celebrations for up to 250 guests.
Packages include in-house halal catering, a dedicated coordinator and standard decor, with tables and chairs. Silver is for up to 100 guests and Gold for up to 200; the venue advertises celebrations up to 250. Check what is included for your guest count.
An in-house halal menu and inclusive package may reduce the number of suppliers you need to arrange. If a specific external Nigerian caterer or menu is essential, establish whether it is possible before proceeding. The venue’s own kitchen is part of its advertised offering.
The Grade II listed interior and domed hall already have decorative detail. For 100 to 200 guests, consider how much additional decor you want and where it would sit.
At Opulent @ 35, plan parking and drop-off for older relatives and suppliers. The central location has public-transport access, but there is no large private car park at the door.
If you want the legal civil ceremony here, confirm approved-premises status with the venue and Liverpool Register Office. Advertising civil weddings does not by itself confirm the approval for your room, and the registrar booking needs arranging separately.
Consider it for 50 to 250 guests if you want central Liverpool, in-house halal catering and an inclusive package in a decorated hall.

How I compare the four reception venues
Compare the dining layout after production is added. Rum Warehouse lists 500 seated and Anfield’s Beautiful Game 370 for dinner. Palm House’s maximum is 220, while Opulent @ 35 advertises celebrations up to 250; confirm its seated layout. Check the space left for dancing once the stage, band, cake and photo booth are included.
Settle catering before booking decor. Palm House uses approved partners, Opulent includes in-house halal food and Anfield has venue-led service. Ask Titanic for the catering terms attached to your package. Start with what your family wants to eat and compare the supplier arrangements that can provide it.
Keep the entrance route clear. Your programme may include parent entrances, the wedding party and couple, drummers or several outfit changes. Give the planner and photographer your family’s sequence before aisle decor is finalised.
Agree lighting settings for the different parts of the reception. Neutral light helps with skin tones, Aso-Ebi colour and video during prayers, speeches, cake cutting and formal groups. Colour and effects can follow for dancing.
Match the team to the day. A 150-person Palm House wedding has different needs from a 500-person Rum Warehouse reception. For larger Nigerian celebrations, a second photographer and at least two video angles help cover simultaneous moments across the room.
