Lights on Leicester 2025 – A Night of Community, Colour, and Connection

On 19th November 2025, Leicester lit up once again for the annual Lights on Leicester celebration — and the city centre was nothing short of magical. Crowds gathered around the iconic Clock Tower, filling the space with excitement, music, and festive energy as the Christmas lights were officially switched on.

What stood out most wasn’t just the illumination, but the togetherness. Families, students, creatives, and long-time locals all came out to enjoy the night. The Leicester Police were present throughout the event—friendly, approachable, and ensuring everyone felt safe. Ambulance services were also on standby, creating a secure and welcoming environment for the community to enjoy the celebration freely.

As photographers, we came with cameras in hand, ready to capture the joy and the unexpected moments that make Leicester special. We photographed random strangers—smiles, laughter, candid expressions, winter coats, sparkling lights, and everything in between. These spontaneous portraits turned out beautifully, a reminder that some of the best photos happen unplanned.
