Prepare your wedding enquiry. Call me on 07823714814
Before you send your enquiry
Tell me what is already decided and what is still open. Start with your wedding date, ceremony venue and reception venue, then add the time you expect the day to begin and finish. Explain which photographs matter most to you, whether that is family groups, the ceremony or time together away from the guests. If you are also looking for film, say so in the enquiry so the conversation covers both services.
- Give the date and venue names first. If a venue is provisional, say which town you are considering.
- For an in-person meeting, video call or phone call, have your outline timetable and questions ready.
- My quotes are tailored to your needs. Explain your priorities and the coverage you want to discuss.
- I ask for a 30% deposit to secure your day. This gets you officially on my calendar and you can cross “photographer” off your wedding checklist.

Preparing a wedding enquiry
What details should I have ready before I enquire?
Include your names, wedding date, venue names and a way to contact you. Add an approximate guest count if you know it, plus any ceremony or reception times already agreed. You can still enquire while planning; mark uncertain details as provisional so they can be discussed.
What should I include for a wedding outside the UK?
Give the country, town and venue, along with the dates on which you want photographs. Mention any celebrations on other days. Ask about availability and travel arrangements for that itinerary before making plans around a photographer; an enquiry does not confirm either.
Which personal details will help plan the photographs?
Mention anything that affects how you would like to be photographed, such as feeling uneasy in front of a camera, an outfit change or wanting a shorter portrait break. Share a few photographs you like and explain what appeals to you, rather than sending a long list without context.
How do I describe the photography coverage I need?
Begin with the first event you want photographed and the last part of the day you want included. Note any separate preparation addresses and travel between venues. Ask the quote to state the agreed coverage and image delivery details so you can check them against your plans.
How do I ask about an engagement or pre-wedding session?
Say whether you are enquiring about the wedding, a separate couples session, or both. For a session, suggest dates and a location and explain how you hope to use the photographs. Ask for its availability and quote to be confirmed alongside the wedding enquiry.
Can I enquire before I have booked a venue?
Yes. Give your likely date or date range and the area you are considering. Explain whether you have a shortlist of venues or are still choosing the location. Follow up with the confirmed address and timetable so coverage and travel can be discussed using the actual plans.
