Peace and Olayinka’s story continued from Wolverhampton to a Birmingham reception. We discuss photography and film for your own West Midlands wedding, including Nigerian and African celebrations, with time for family photographs and the transfer between your venues.
Wolverhampton photography for Nigerian and African weddings
Peace and Olayinka’s celebration began in Wolverhampton and continued with a reception in Birmingham. The story keeps both places in view, which is useful if your wedding also crosses the West Midlands. Plan when relatives will be together before deciding where the main group photographs belong. A gap between events may already be needed for changing clothes or travelling, so it should not automatically become portrait time. Give us the venue access arrangements and tell us when the speeches are expected. For affordable package options, describe the parts you want covered at each location. We can discuss photography and wedding film against that schedule and the budget you have in mind.

Wolverhampton portraits before the party moves on
A Wolverhampton ceremony can have a very different scale from the reception that follows. The council’s venue choices include the Oak and Rococo rooms at City Archives and the City Suite at the Civic Centre. Name the room when enquiring so the portrait discussion starts with your actual gathering.
If only close relatives attend the ceremony, use that time for photographs of those relationships. The larger reception can have its own shorter list for people joining you later. Explain who will attend each part, including anyone leaving early or travelling between Wolverhampton and a reception elsewhere.
An intimate ceremony and a lively reception need different recording conversations. Decide whether your film should preserve quiet exchanges at the first event, the evening speeches, or both. Explain when people who missed the ceremony will first see you as a married couple.
If your reception includes an entrance after changing clothes, tell the announcer who can confirm you are ready. A filming position arranged for a seated speech may not suit people moving through the room. Share the running order with the person coordinating the sound as well.
Think about what you want remembered from the smaller ceremony and the larger party. Include the move to Birmingham if that is your reception plan. Travel and changing clothes need space in the overall timetable when discussing an affordable coverage period and your budget.
Confirm where the couple can change and when the reception expects you. If those arrangements already fill the interval after the ceremony, place essential portraits before departure. It is easier to adjust a short couple session than to find several relatives again once they have travelled separately.
The council places the Archives ceremony rooms in the Molineux Hotel Building on Whitmore Hill, while the City Suite is at the Civic Centre in St Peter’s Square. Give the specific location to drivers and guests. Ask your venue which waiting and portrait spaces will be available for your own ceremony.
Can a small ceremony still have a complete photographic story?
It can include arrivals, permitted ceremony pictures and time with the people you invited. Tell us which relationships matter most, and include individual portraits if there are people you particularly want photographed with you.
Are the Archives and Civic Centre the same venue?
They are separate council ceremony locations. Use the room name and address from your confirmation so suppliers and relatives arrive at the right building.
How should relatives joining only the reception be included?
Give them a separate family-photo list and a gathering point at the reception. Include anyone leaving early, so their photographs need not depend on the later dancing programme.
What if we change our entrance order?
Ask one person to pass the revised sequence to the photography, film and sound contacts. Include any spoken introduction that could be missed if it begins during the changeover.
